The late Gothic Wolf-Dietrich Hall – our largest seminar room – can accommodate up to 110 participants. It is particularly suitable for lectures and conferences, but also for multi-group projects where individual teams can work undisturbed without having to leave the room.
In addition, the magnificent hall provides a dignified setting for official ceremonies, club or association meetings and closing events, as well as for concerts, such as the annual Schloss Hofen Advent. A technical highlight of the hall is the large screen that can be lowered into a special lectern.
A separate exit leads directly into the castle garden.
Namesake
The hall, originally built as a chapel in the 16th century, is named after Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau, who became Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg at the age of 28. Wolf Dietrich was a grandson of Clara de’ Medici, herself a sister of Pope Pius IV. Through his grandmother’s influence, he was able to hold the office of Archbishop of Salzburg without ever having received ordination as a priest.
The originally freestanding “St. Oswald Chapel”, which today houses the Wolf-Dietrich Hall, was most likely built around 1535 by Hans Werner von Raitenau.

Yes, absolutely. We offer all standard seating arrangements – U-shape, parliamentary style, theater style, block, or circle. Special requests or combinations can be implemented individually after consultation.
Yes. The castle offers coffee break areas, buffet zones and terrace areas. Depending on your booking, our catering packages include coffee, tea, snacks, and seasonal menus from our in-house kitchen.
Yes. Seminarhotel Schloss Hofen offers 27 double rooms directly in the castle building, which can also be used as single rooms. This allows participants to travel, stay overnight, and continue the following day without any loss of time.
